Architectural Asphalt Roofing Shingles

Architectural shingles are shingles that are designed to emulate the appearance of wood shake shingles. Also known as laminated or dimensional shingles, architectural roofing shingles are the most popular choice in the Central Ohio area.

They are formed by joining two layers of shingle material. The top layer is notched so a three dimensional effect is created. Manufacturers also blend the surface granules to enhance the three dimensional effect of the shingle.

Many manufacturers offer specialized hip and ridge shingles that compliment the look of the shingles. Because of their extra thickness, architectural roofing shingles offer better wind resistance and longer warranties.
